The Brooks Farmer’s Market is held at the Kinsmen Building located at the intersection of 7th ST SE and 1ave in Brooks. The market runs every Thursday afternoon and is open to the public from 3pm to 6:30pm. We welcome new vendors to come to the Brooks market, we have spaces available inside and outside.
The Brooks market is an Alberta approved market and we are dedicated to keeping a market open for those who make, bake or grow their own product. We do allow up to 20% of our market mix to include commercial products and resale of produce from outside of Alberta when Alberta produce is not available.
For those people who wish to sell prepared food or baked goods, there are procedures to maintain food safety regulations. Please contact the market manager who will work with you and the local public health inspector to allow you to sell food items. It will take 2-3 weeks from application date to getting initial approval to sell at the Brooks Farmers' Market. An outline of logistics for potential vendors is this. There are full season rates of $285 per table and weekly rates of $20 per table. The market does have tables available. A vendor is charged per table used, however the tables are 6 feet in length and spots can be up to 10 feet in space. Personal tables can be brought in to utilize the extra space allotted. Approval by the market manager is needed before a vendor can attend the market. A one time or occasional non-food vendor needs to obtain approval by Wed noon for that week’s market. Vendors need to plan on setting up between 2 and 2:30pm, no sales are permitted before 3pm and vendors cannot begin to pack up until after close at 6:30pm.
Potential vendors are highly encouraged to come and visit the market on a Thursday prior to setting up their own table, to see what products are available, to see the layout of the market and to see what they can offer that is unique to our market.
